Practices and Tools

Affirmative Prayer

We practice a form of affirmative prayer called “Spiritual Mind Treatment.” Affirmative Prayer is a practical tool that aligns our thoughts with all-good. Affirmative Prayer is a powerful process that shifts our consciousness so that we are open and available to accept the good that is already present in our life.

It is a direct, focused, and organized method using five steps to get to your desired outcome:

  1. Recognition (God Is All There Is)
  2. Unification (I Am One with God)
  3. Realization (Speaking Your Desired Good)
  4. Thanksgiving (Grateful Acceptance) and
  5. Release (Let Go, Let God)

You can meet with a practitioner to guide you through this process.

Compassion

Compassion is the practice of respecting the true nature of all life and claiming the same good for others that we accept for ourselves. Compassion leads us to join personal responsibility with social conscience for the good of all.

“This is the attitude we should assume, that life holds nothing against us. It desires only our good; it wants us to be well, happy, and successful, but it wants us to play the game of life the way it is supposed to be played — in unity and cooperation with others.”

~ Science of Mind Magazine, Ernest Holmes, October 1998

Gratitude

Gratitude is the practice of seeing creation as life-affirming, looking for the good and praising it. Gratitude is more than an emotion; it is an attitude of appreciation and acceptance.

“The reason we can make our requests known with thanksgiving is because we know from the beginning that we are to receive and therefore we cannot help being thankful. This grateful attitude to the Spirit puts us in very close touch with power and adds much to the reality of the thing that we are dealing with.”

~ Creative Mind and Success, Ernest Holmes p. 24.2

Intentional Manifestation

Intentional manifestation is the practice of mindfully bringing about the greater good, a more abundant experience of life, and a better condition for all than what existed before. Spiritual Mind Treatment is our primary method for intentional manifestation.

“Pure Spirit is at the center of all form. Of Itself, It is formless but It is ever giving birth to form. The forms come and go but It goes on forever. We are some part of It. If pure Spirit is at the center of everything and is always responding to our thought, there is no limit to Its manifestation for us except the limitations that we set.”

~ The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes, p. 406.2

Meditation

Meditation is a wonderful metaphysical practice that fosters a blissful state of being, relaxes you, provides mental clarity and helps you to tap into your intuitive nature. Meditation can be silent or guided. Incorporating a regular meditation practice in your life will help you connect to the power of the Divine that resides within. Our Sunday celebration starts with a guided meditation from 10:00 – 10:20, led by a practitioner or minister. Join us!
